The Society Islands, a group composed of theindward Islands (Tahiti, Moorea) and the leeward Islands (Huahine, Raiatea, Tahaa, Bora Bora and Maupiti) are all high, volcanic islands surrounded by lagoons.


The Leeward Islands are thought to be the original and, the mythical motherland of ancient polynesians, from which came gods, sacred words nd traditions.
